Terms of use

Updated: 6 September 2026. Applies to the tropicguide.info website and the Tropic Guide mobile app (the “service”). By using the service you accept these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the service.

1. What the service is

Tropic Guide is an information service about Phuket: a catalog of places, articles, ready-made day routes and routes built for your request, plus a showcase of tours run by a partner tour operator. The service is free, has no ads and no in-app purchases.

2. Routes and the catalog

Routes, driving times, opening hours, entry prices and other details about places are for reference. We try to keep them current but cannot guarantee accuracy: schedules change, roads close, prices rise. Check what matters on the spot before you go. The decision to follow a route, and responsibility for your safety on the way, stay with you: the service is neither a tour operator nor an escorting guide.

3. Tours and requests

The tours shown in the service are run by the partner tour operator (phuket-tropic-tours). The service does not sell tours, takes no payment and no deposit: booking is by request.

When you send a request from the app or write on WhatsApp, we pass your name, phone number and the text of the request to the tour operator, who contacts you to confirm availability, price, time and conditions. The contract for the tour is made between you and the tour operator at the moment of that confirmation; payment, rescheduling and cancellation follow the operator's rules, stated on confirmation. Sending a request commits you to nothing: until the operator has confirmed the booking and you have agreed to the conditions, there are no obligations on either side.

The service is not a party to the tour contract and is not responsible for the tour being run, its quality, changes to the programme or refunds. Take these matters to the tour operator; we will help you reach them if contact is lost.

4. Accounts

Signing up is optional. If you create an account (by e-mail or through Google), you are responsible for access to it and for what is done under it. An account can be deleted on request — see the privacy policy.

5. Reviews and photos

By submitting a review or a photo you confirm that you hold the rights to it and allow the service to publish it in the app and on the site free of charge, with or without your name. Only what passes moderation is published. We do not publish advertising, abuse, other people's material or content that breaks the law, and may remove any review without giving a reason. You can delete your own reviews and photos right in the app.

6. Intellectual property

The texts, routes, design and the Tropic Guide mark belong to the service. Photos of places from Wikimedia Commons are used under free licences with their authors credited. You may use the service for personal, non-commercial purposes; copying the catalog or articles wholesale, circumventing the app's limits or interfering with its operation is not allowed.

7. Liability

The service is provided “as is”. We do not guarantee uninterrupted operation and are not liable for losses connected with relying on reference information, with the service being unavailable, or with the actions of third parties, the tour operator included. In any case our liability is limited to the amount you paid the service — which is nothing, since the service is free.

8. Changes

We may change these terms; the new version is published on this page with its update date. Continuing to use the service after a change means accepting the new version.
